(January 16, 2008, Tustin, California) – A diverse trio of charities were among the big winners in the recent Cashaway™ Sweepstakes, which awarded $20,000 to 258 winners and their favorite charities. There were nearly 40,000 entrants.

In addition to winning $5,000, $2,500 and $1,000 respectively, the first, second and third place winners designated their favorite charities to receive additional cash donations provided by Cash Plus.

Grand Prizewinner Teshon Mason of Henderson, NV, who took home $5,000, chose Save the Children (www.savethechildren.org) as his favorite charity. His $1,000 donation will support STC’s programs aimed at making a difference in the lives of children in America and throughout the world.

The $2,500 second place winner, Michael Peterson of Fullerton, CA, selected the Emanuel Lutheran Preschool as his designated charity. The school received a check for $500 in Michael’s name to help further their educational programs for young children.

Nickola Brown from Lauderhill, FL, received $1,000 as the third place winner. Nickola chose to support the Feed the Children (www.feedthechildren.org) because she “simply loves kids.” FTC provides food and other types of necessary aid to children, families and persons in need in the United States and around the world. Feed the Children received a check for $250 in Nickola’s name.
